Our sayas are made in-house by hand. Made of spalted white oak wood, we polish to 2000 grit and finish with a food-grade plant-based hard wax oil. There is a branded Kirei Medallion on the back side and the pins are wooden.

Spalted wood is any kind of wood coloration that is caused when fungi or insects colonise the wood and extract nutrients from it, leaving behind a dark dotted and lines patterns. 

Our sayas are designed to fit the knives that we sell exclusively. Sayas do come in universal sizes, however, there are slight differences that can make them not fit your knife correctly. If you need a custom saya, please contact us.
